on the importance of eyebrows
One of the weirdest experiences a.opecia provides is the ongoing looks of misrecognition. You will see people, all kinds of ppl, who look at you with a bewildered look, trying desperately to place you. Or they’ll be trying to grasp what is different about you. And they just can’t figure it out. Yes. I don’t have any brows.
And to me, it’s the most obvious thing about me when you look at my face. I’ve been bald for several years now, and I still don’t recognize myself in the mirror.
People who know you and are consistently around you tend to get used to it. But, for the people who are used to the way you looked pre alopecia, and then see you for the first time without eyebrows… let’s just say it’s jarring.
The day my father walked into my house, and started to introduce himself, was the day I realized I was now a whole new person. Just get used to it.
